Welcome to Echidna Developed free for non-commercial use. Echidna performs statistical analysis by fitting linear mixed models utilising the Average Information algorithm to estimate variance parameters. Echidna is targeted for use in animal and plant breeding contexts. It is availale for Mac, Linux and Windows 64 bit systems. There is no charge for using this program but there is a restriction. It may not be used for commercial purposes unless you hold a current ASReml licence.

To download the software, you need to first register, then login and agree to the licence conditions. Note that this is an ALPHA software release, and is expected to be updated at least monthly. Please check the download page to see when the program was most recently updated.
